Some Cyber Podcasts

Since deciding my new career path takes me into Cybersecurity, I started to look into different podcasts which would give me news and updates about the developments and challenges in the Cyberworld.

It is a vital view into the digital realm of practicing Security Researchers, Hackers, Threat Hunters and Penetration Testers. For me it opened a whole new and vast universe, which immediately got me hooked and fascinated - a great feeling, as it's confirming I had chosen the right path.

With its fast pace of changes and development it could be easily overwhelming. And of course the looming AI imminently revealing its reality of being friend and/or foe getting ever closer. Some might say Cybersecurity is a minefield, exponentially expanding and impossible to keep up with. Perhaps. I am up for the challenge, and I know I am not alone. As the podcasts prove, countless experts are already out there and I want to join them.

Podcasts of course have been a global success. With many channels for each topic and subject to choose from, the options are seemingly endless. So my list here is of course not at all comprehensive or exhaustive, merely a small selection of podcasts I came across. Also likely that I am missing a few good ones, so any pointers are always welcome.

In no particular order:

Hacked

Two friends Scott and Jordan telling relevant stories from the Cyberworld, mixed with anecdotes and "chatty chat". I find them easy to listen to and highly interesting.

Risky.biz

Based in Australia, weekly interviews are discussing the latest tech and security issues with IT experts and businesses. Quite techy, this podcast certainly requires some foundational tech understanding.

Cybersecurity Today

Based in Canada, Jim and David update the world in short episodes on the latest global security cases and events every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Saturdays the episodes are longer and discuss more details and specifics with IT experts of the field. Highly informative and not too techy, as some tech stuff is explained, although plenty of jargon used. I learn a lot from this podcast and I find it immensely interesting.

Darknet Diaries

"True stories from the dark side of the internet"

Jack researches each story in great detail. Sometimes these stories have been brewing for a long time. Fantastic background stories about all sorts of dodgy business in the cyberworld. These stories are usually from the past and not necessarily related to issues of the present day.

Malicious Life

Ran Levi seems to have stopped publishing new episodes. The last one was published in December 2024. I find his episodes interesting nonetheless, even if they are outdated.

"He'll talk about botnets, DDoS attacks, and hacktivists - and finally, about the latest headline-grabbing cyber-threat: ransomware."

The IT Bridge

UK-based. On average one episode per month, publishing seems irregular. I found them a little slow to listen to.

NCSC Cyber Series

This is the UK's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) podcast run by the UK's government. Episodes had stopped for several months on October 2025, so I was surprised to see monthly episodes published from July 2026. It seems they release them as a series, therefore gaps in between each series. I found these episodes a little dry and lacking in spice to make it a bit more interesting to listen to.

The Cyber Security Podcast from PwC UK

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP

"covers the latest developments in cyber risk, resilience and threat intelligence."

Admittedly I haven't listened to this podcast yet.

Wired for Change

I came across Amy Yee on another podcast, where she has been interviewed. I liked what she had to say there and since subscribed to her own channel.

I have to do more exploring to be able to rate it properly.

Black Box: The Chatbots

This is a 4-episode long mini series by The Guardian. I recently came across this podcast, but again it's sitting on my playlist for now, until I have time to listen to it.
